The Dallas buyers’ club is a collection of male strip clubs, including the Yellow and Blue Diamonds.
It has existed for more than 30 years in Dallas, but its demise has been slow and steady.
“I think its time for the industry to come back, and the market needs it,” said Joe Rocha, owner of the Blue Diamond.
When the Blue and Golds were first established in 1974, the strip club industry was booming in the suburbs of Dallas.
In the decades since, the industry has been a fading shadow of its former self, with fewer than 100 clubs still operating in the area.
Rocha said the industry needs to find a new model, but that it needs to grow.
He is planning to open a second club in downtown Dallas in 2019.
While there are many other male strip parlors, Rochas hope to have a female counterpart in the future.
